Immediately after working on the VW Buses I knew I had to do something from another favorite movie, Jurassic Park.
I used some better quality material (I think I settled for Kellogg’s boxes over some others) and the print quality on the cardback is pretty decent.
As soon as I saw these Matchbox Jeeps I knew exactly what I was going to do with them! I managed to get 11 total, so I made a prototype and 10 carded cars.
Again i used a wire wheel to strip off the paint. Nowadays I use chemical strippers that work better and don’t leave scratches.
Painting was extensive on these as i had to reverse colors and repaint every part of them including the interior and rollcage. Decals were made with cd labels.
Note the #10 Jeep in the mix there.. that made an appearance later. All cars are numbered on the chassis.
