I really enjoyed Demolition Man (Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes) and one of the feature chase scenes is with a classic ’70 Olds 442, which they only do real minor damage to thank goodness. I think I did this kit sometime in the early 2000s.
I stumbled across the Testors reissue of the Jo-Han classic kit. It is well sculpted and has the usual chrome bits, etc. It didn’t have the scoop hood so I had to adapt what I had at the time. I did a fair job, but not great. Looks like someone sat on them.
This is another case where everything was going well then I put the clear coat on and *BAM* it looks like hell.
I didn’t spend much time putting this together aside from the hood scoops so no big loss.
The interior is pretty basic, and since it’s black it doesn’t photograph very well. Actual cars from this era are pretty basic so it looks about right though.
The engine is barely there enough to call it an engine, and the hood doesn’t fit exactly right.
Definitely not my finest work. It looks good from about 3 feet away if you’re not wearing glasses.
This model has since joined the great scrapheap in the sky… R.I.P.
