Kit: 1992 Tamiya Toyota Celica GT-4 (Rally Lights) 1/24 Scale
I fell in love with the Castrol/Toyota decor after playing Sega Rally Championship. This and the other Celica model similar had so many decals I couldn’t believe it but it presented a great challenge.
Not my favorite generation of Celica, but this is what was avilable to me at the time and I wasn’t going to say no.
This kit’s distinguishing features are the rally light cluster on the front. The antenna is plastic and there wasn’t any photo etched parts like on the other one.
Big reinforced skidplate and beefed up suspension. It would be amazing to have seen these race in person!
Detailed interior parts are so important on models like these! Tamiya makes some really amazing kits.
The seat belts were paper if I recall. Pretty convincing though!
No opening hood but really there’s enough going on with all the details and turnable steering.
I still have this car on display in 2022.
