Following the 2009 Holiday Party, Hot Wheels released a gold version of the DeLorean. These exist as a few real 24k gold plated cars. They were offered in the American Express catalog in 1981, though only a 2 were made for the promotion plus a spare set of panels (which made a third car) and another custom-made car was built as well.
Also of note is by this time I had moved on to a simply rounded corner card with a punch. Finding a good corner punch that will go through cardboard took several years and several sketchy corner punches.
I’m almost certain that this is the only time I ever printed color on the back of a card. By this time I had switched to a better grade of cardboard in the form of way outdated blue UPS envelopes that I found in my workplace.
A running production change shows the date at the top left corner on these cards. The hole punch kept getting too close to the date on the first version. And yes before I used binder clips this is how I used to clamp the blisters onto the cards.
