Project Cars was my second planned series of cars, based on the idea of a mostly finished but still needs work car. Maybe it doesn’t run or is missing trim or needs paint work. But almost without fail has new wheels. I reserved JS0005-0008 for these cars in 2007 but kept putting it off. The card design was done and even a few printed out, but I was busy with other things and it got put off a bit.. until 2022. So yes, they are finally finished. Jeez.. kinda like a proper project car.
I printed a few demo cards on the horrid cardboard but decided to reprint them in 2022 to finish them. I left my design alone though. A primer gray stripe on the side of the card sets these apart.
The backs are up to my 2022 standard, which is crisp and clear, even if the 2007 screenshot of their website isn’t.
Part of the giveaway of when I assembled these is the blisters. They are all of a more modern style.
This is a metal body and plastic base Charger. The BFG tires probably came from an all-metal base “Classics” car.
Thin, worn-through paint and some primer tell a story. Usually not a good story.
There’s likely more bondo than steel on certain parts of this car.
Typical rusty areas on this charger, but it looks like some effort has been made to patch them up. More sanding and it’ll be ready for paint. Probably.
